Adagio, the Mellow Pup

        Adagio is an Italian music term, meaning gentle or mellow. It was the perfect name for our buddy, because he lived with us for several months before he barked. He was six months old when I fell in love with him at the animal shelter.

        My husband and I had just gotten married and moved into our new house a month before, but it was too quiet... we needed a puppy to make it sound like "Home".

        Adagio's mom was a standard poodle, and his dad a retriever, and he had the most beautifully silky silver & charcoal coat.

        Like all retrievers, he adored the water. But he was also a nurturing 'papa' dog, as a few foster puppies, and one tabby kitten named Bogey, were delighted to find out.

        His favorite toy was a flashlight... he'd chase the light for hours if we'd let him.

        Put 'em up, put 'em up... oh, no, wait -- it's Stick 'em Up, yeah, that's it! Doh!
